Important Notice: The Florida Legislature is currently reviewing a bill that may lower the cost of motor vehicle registrations by up to $25.00 per year. If approved, this legislative change is scheduled to take effect September 1, 2014. In an effort to save you money, the Marion County Tax Collector recommends renewing your motor vehicle registration for one year, versus two years. There is no cost advantage with two-year registration renewals. If this legislation is passed, refunds will not be given for current registrations.

As a convenience to our taxpayers, we now offer the option of On-line payment service. This service is provided by Point and Pay, Inc. In order to use this credit card option, you must agree to an additional 2.5% convenience fee per transaction, or a minimum of $2.00, whichever is greater. The Marion County Tax Collector’s office does not collect or receive any monies from this convenience fee. It is strictly a processing fee charged by Point and Pay in order to provide this convenient service to you.

To conduct an on-line transaction, just click on one of the menu choices. Once your transaction has been confirmed, you can expect to receive your hard copy receipt and materials by mail within 5 business days.

ATTENTION: The on-line payment validation only confirms your transaction with the Tax Collector's Office and does not replace or serve as a temporary substitute for a hard copy receipt, valid registration, tag and/or decal.

Individuals who engage in activities or operations that require a hard copy receipt, valid registration, tag and/or decal, and do not possess same are subject to law enforcement actions or other related government proceedings.

Your hard copy receipt, which you can expect to receive by mail within 5 business days, and the accompanying materials (such as a valid registration, tag and/or decal), authenticates your payment obligation and lawful compliance.
