Effective February 6th, FLHSMV has directed that all driver license knowledge and driving exams administered in the State of Florida will be offered exclusively in English.

Requirements For A Drivers License or ID Card

  • Original Operator Driver License - Transfer From Out of State
  • Proof of identification as required by the REAL ID Act of 2005**
  • Vision test, with or without corrective lenses, to meet acuity of 20/40
  • Hearing test
  • Written and/or driving test as applicable
    • Beginning February 6, 2026, all knowledge and skills exams will be administered in English only, including exams given orally.
