Non-AD Valorem Assessments

Delinquent Tax Questions
The non-ad valorem assessments roll is certified to the Marion County Tax Collector by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners. Non-ad valorem levies are not based on value or millage rate.
Non-ad valorem assessments are not subject to exemption. There are many non-ad valorem assessments and/or road assessments that must be collected on a property owner's tax bill. Included in the non-ad valorem assessments are charges for County Wide Fire and Waste.
Those property owners whose total family income falls within the federal poverty guidelines adopted by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners may possibly qualify for help in paying the County Wide Fire and Waste charge only on the upcoming (next) tax year.
Property owners that feel they may qualify should contact the office of MSTU/Assessments, 521 SE 26th Court, Ocala, Florida or phone (352) 671-8788. This help in paying does need to be applied for and approved in advance and there is an early deadline. Only the office of MSTU Assessments can work with you and talk with you about whether you qualify due to low income for the upcoming (next) tax year. You cannot apply for this help for delinquent tax years.
For any problems or questions concerning all non-ad valorem assessments please contact the MSTU/Assessments office indicated above.
